International Education - Costs & Scholarships

Payment Deadlines

Students are billed at the beginning of each semester: August 1 and January 1. New international students, including exchange/study abroad students, are not allowed to use the payment plan. International students starting their 3rd semester at Benedictine will have the option to use the monthly payment plan offered by the college.

Undergraduate Costs

The academic year is two semesters with a break in between. The fall semester is August to December. The spring semester is January to May. Summer sessions are available but are not required. The estimated costs are for the 2019-2020 academic year:

* Benedictine College estimates 2019-2020 annual costs for books, supplies, transportation, and medical insurance expenses to be $3,000, although costs will vary by student.

Taxes

International Students who receive scholarships from Benedictine College that is in excess of tuition and fees may be required to pay tax on the excess amount. Benedictine College does not cover any taxes owed, this amount will appear on the student’s bill. Students who are citizens of a country that has a tax treaty with the United States that specifically exempts the tax on student scholarships will not have to pay any tax. Scholarships

Benedictine College offers a limited number of academic scholarships for international students. Scholarships are based on academic performance, standardized test scores, and English proficiency. Applicants must be accepted for admission before a scholarship can be awarded.

Campus Jobs

International students may work on-campus. Students working on campus typically earn $500 to $1,000 per year. Due to the competition for on-campus jobs, we cannot guarantee that any international or domestic student will get a job. Students can apply for work-study positions through their Ravenzone account. The U.S. government allows international students to work off-campus only in specific situations.

Other Aid

Only U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply for loans and grants from the U.S. government. We suggest you visit the Ministry of Education website of you country. Some countries offer financial aid to their citizens studying overseas.
